Well it had to happen some time...
I just played my first game of 40K in YEARS! The last two sets of rules came and went and I never played game one under either set. So the 6th Edition was the catalyst for me. Yay! I undercoated my 500 pt Praetorian Imperial Guard Army in red and spray painted by bases desert tan. I know. But I have started playing, who knows, maybe I'll be embarassed about my Army and paint some of it. Stranger things have happened. Tonight's battle was 500 pts of Praetorian (me) allied with 500 pts of Sisters of Battle (not me) VS 1000 pts of Crimson Fist Space Marines (Eric). I ran two 10 man squads with a Grenade Launcher and Lascannon in a Combined Squad, a 10 man Veteran Squad with Sgt. Harker, and a Platoon Command Squad. The first turn was seized by Eric and he proceeded to shoot everything he had against my Combined Squad and whittled it down to 6 models. ::sigh:: My Veteran Squad holed up in a building (Love those 4+ cover saves!) and spent the entire game shooting Space Marines. My Sister of Battle ally did really well and polished off half of the Space Marines. When we had to stop playing (shops have annoying tendencies to stick to their open hours), our side was winning by a long ways. In Eric's defense I haven't seen such bad dice rolls in a long time...
